The days of doing nothing are over. The Camper Rent is making the case for sustainable camping. How do we do that?
- There are no large format RVs available yet that are fully electric. Therefore, until then, we offset the average emissions per week, per motorhome, by planting trees through TreesforAll
Conscious camping
Fortunately, camping is a lot more sustainable than flying. You too can do something while camping to minimize your impact on the environment while enjoying the natural surroundings to the fullest.
- Eco-friendly motorhome: The Camper rent rents out new motorhomes equipped with the latest fuel technologies that reduce emissions. We also keep an eye on the developments regarding electric driving, when these are well and truly available we will introduce them in our range.
- Waste: minimize waste by using reusable shopping bags and water bottles. Do not leave trash at the location where you are staying with the RV. Often at RV sites or campgrounds there are several options for disposing of or even separating waste.
- Limit speed while driving: Drive at a moderate pace to reduce fuel consumption. This is not only better for the environment but also better for your wallet.
- Water consumption: showering in the motorhome is sometimes an option, since the water tank can run out quickly it is advisable to shower briefly, this is obviously better for the environment. On campsites there is often already a limit for the shower. If you are in the middle of nature then it also doesn't hurt to take a dip in the natural water at that location!
- Support local economies: by eating, staying and shopping at local businesses.
In addition, it is a good idea to inform yourself about the specific rules and guidelines of the camping location you are going to. Each area may have specific rules regarding open flames, wild camping and entering protected areas, for example.
So sustainable camping is not difficult at all! By camping consciously, you contribute to the conservation of nature and help preserve the beauty of the natural environment for future generations.
