Germany
If you like the heat a little less, then Germany is a good idea. Close to the Dutch border you can recharge your batteries in nature! The border region is a wonderful area for campers anyway, there are plenty of campsites here as well. Besides being a camper-friendly country, you can cycle well and there are also beautiful hiking trails.
As a tip, we can recommend Teutoburgerwald. The forest is not only beautiful, but there is also a lot to do. The vast mountain ridge that is partly in Nordrhein-Westfalen and partly in Niedersachsen has a long history where even the Germanic and Romans already knew about it and also fought a lot here. A lot of history can be found in the area.
You can see the lively history at the Museum Park Kalkriese. Here you will learn all about this history. It is also a fun place for children to learn and do all kinds of things.
Still prefer exercise? There is good cycling in the area along the hilly landscape, between the fields, through the meadows and green forests. An occasional stop in one of the picturesque villages for a tasty piece of Apfelstrudel to complete the vacation feeling.
In the village of Bippen you can cycle on a railroad bike! You can cycle there about 8 kilometers through Hasetal on a wagon bike over the railroad. There are several options and pick-up points. You can also choose whether you go as a couple or a group. The website for more information: www.hasental.de.
To discover the villages and towns a little better, it is also fun to go to a weekly market. Every town has one and it is a good place to hang out between food stalls and fresh local produce. A tip, the Münsterland chocolates!

Portugal
Are you looking for the sun? And don't mind doing a lot of kilometers. Then Portugal is a good tip to celebrate the Indian summer with your camper. Take your time, because it is quite a lot of kilometers. Fortunately, your accommodation is always close at hand, so stopping and resting in between is easy.
Even further down in the tip of Portugal lies the Algarve where one of the most beautiful beaches in the world can be found: Praia da Marinha. Golden yellow sand and the clear blue water between the rocks gives a dream picture. In the Algarve there are many rugged coasts and good surf spots. Furthermore, there are cute and unique villages and great hiking trails everywhere.
Camping tip:
Parque da Galé
Faro
What is also worth visiting is the city of Faro. A colorful city full of orange trees, delicious eateries and cafes where you should especially try the white sangria.
Along the coast are many campsites that are also suitable for RVs, there are also RV sites (a kind of parking lot with extra-large spaces), this is often indicated by special signs along the road.
If you stay a little higher and north in Portugal, there lies Porto, known for its port. Along Porto runs the Douro River, near which the Douro Valley can be found. At this valley you can get the most delicious Portuguese wines and port. The surroundings here are beautifully green and thus a pleasure to drive through with the motorhome.
